CodingZen Hackathon is an institution-wide collaborative coding event for students from aged 8 to 16 to showcase
their coding talent. In this edition organized in April 2021, 330 students from Indian and International schools from 12
countries participated. They put their creative minds and coding knowledge to build projects to solve real-word
problems.
The projects were judged by an expert panel who have significant experience in Technology, Design, Coding, and
Education. Students experienced a boost in their confidence when they were given the opportunity to present their
creative projects.
The felicitation event of CodingZen Hackathon 2021 was organized on 2 May 2021 to recognize and celebrate the
winners and other participants.
"Everybody has a creative potential and from the moment you can express this creative potential, you can start changing the world."
- Paulo Coelho
A Hackathon is a week-long coding marathon where coding enthusiasts get-together to build a functioning software or hardware by the end of the event.
It is also a common platform for students to compete, showcase their skills, stand out, and utilize their learning for actual project implementation. This will eventually help them hone their programming skills and have fun at the same time!
Often people get confused about the term “Hackathon” and associate the work “Hack” to hacking servers. But, in reality the word “Hack” here denotes coding so as to build Apps, games, and websites. Thus Hackathons are a safe, educational and supervised space for students to upskill and explore. 😉
